The committee of directors the European Bank for Reconstruction and development (EBRD) approved a loan of US$25 m to one of the biggest Ukrainian agro-holding groups Mriya (Ternopil region, in western Ukraine). The agreement between the company and the financial institutions will be signed in the near future. These funds have been provided to replenish working capital.
The Mriya group of companies was founded in 1992 by Ivan and Klavdiya Guta and is now engaged in cultivating land in four regions of western Ukraine. It is specialising in growing wheat, barley, rape, sugar beet, buckweet and potatoes. The land bank of the company exceeds 250 thousand hectares, of which 180 thousand hectares are currently under cultivation.
